PRE FALL 2022
The Christian Wijnants Pre Fall 2022 collection finds its way through a texture of
emotions and connections stemming from vague memories of the 70s. This season’s
storylines surround itself by connecting with Christian’s sentimental childhood
memories. Poetic hand-painted floral prints evoke a nostalgic feeling. The floral
prints are enlarged, abstract, and vague almost emulating a painting.
Christian cited Fall season as one of his favorites, the perfect timing for various
transitional pieces just in time for in-between seasons. Finding inspiration for all
the bold mixing and matching. From various deconstructed shirting panels,
superimposed panels to structural draping and subtle asymmetry.
Carefully crafted in high-quality fabrics like soft wool blends, silk, cotton, linen,
coated cotton, black canvas, printed cupro, and soft cotton-satin. Connecting with an
emotional side this season is immersed in an icy colour palette with its unique
characteristics of blue, turquoise, purple, lilac and hints of lime.
Bringing poetry into the picture, like looking through the eyes of a child from freehand
drawings to playing dress up in their parent’s outfits. This observation found its way
into the collection, featuring oversized tops, outerwear in playful proportions and
graceful volumes.
The infamous ottoman knits make a comeback in colorful stripes together with
graphical and jersey roll knits serving as timeless essentials. A carefully curated
selection of essential wardrobe where less is always more.
